The antenna signal reception frequency will be different from a different model. If you are most likely on an edge area where it can work with certain antenna, but may not work at other times. The same antenna may also perform differently around neighbors.

A TV may have a more sensitive tuner than the other, or it could be that less cable is also used, minimizing attenuation. It may just be that the antenna has shifted a little bit, so she should try and repoint it. A better antenna can help as well. It could also be her cables. There are all kinds of things that could impact them. The antenna could be misaligned from wind, the cable connections could be loose, the coax cable could be wet and/or poor quality. An amplifier might help slightly and better quality splitter. Some amplifiers also serve as splitters. A higher antenna is not always better. Try raising or lowering it to find a sweet spot.

How to Watch Sport Games for FREE!

If you are a sport fan, nothing is better than those first signs of Fall approaching because 2018-2019 NBA regular season begins on Oct. 15th. With all the changes happened in Summer, each season brings a new opportunity for your favorite team to win the champion. If you are one of the NBA fans with a deep appreciation for your team, you probably spend entire weekend watching the games.

You don’t really need cable to watch games unless you like John (His story is here), a die-hard NBA Lakers fan. In fact, an HDTV antenna will provide most of season games to you for free! If you are not sure about the antenna, you may check our historical posts and we have an entire antenna guide for you! Air antenna can’t receive ESPN, but the games on ESPN are usually simulcast on the local networks, which bodes well for antenna users that aren’t in extra streaming services to their lineup.

Streaming Services

You can try some streaming trials for free to round out your viewing experience. Let’s start with the most budget friendly option – Sling TV. It includes the channels you need at the lowest price but less local content, and your TV antenna is already cover that part so you are in a good shape. Hulu Live and YouTbe TV have variety of networks and extra add-on services.

There is no reason why a sport fan shouldn’t be able to watch their favorite teams the whole season long with TV antenna and the help from a streaming service. Enjoy the shows!

How Much Will You Spend on Watching TV?

How much will you spend on watching TV? The question came up my mind when I talked to John the other day. I purchased my Samsung smart TV from John, and he was trying to sell his antenna with TV. I was like “Hey, my business is selling antenna, what are you thinking?”

So why John doesn’t need the antenna anymore? John told me he decided to back to cable and will pay a $200 monthly bill. $200 a month, there’s a lot of money to watch TV. I ask him why not choose TV streaming service like YouTube TV or do a combination with antenna and streaming. It turns out John is a crazy Lakers fan, and he decided not to miss every Lakers game because Lebron James will play for Los Angeles.

LBJ Lakers

Serious speaking, will you spend $200 on cable bills every month? Comment below and let us know.

Time to Rescan Your Channels Again

Are you losing TV channels? It’s time for you to rescan channels. Please make sure you rescan your channels by September 14th, 2018.

Recently we receive a lot of calls from customers asking why they are losing quite a few channels, maybe it’s time you need to do the rescan. If you watch TV for free with an antenna, you’ll want to keep a watch on your channels changing frequency. By law, nearly 1,000 TV stations must change frequencies to make room for wireless services between 2018 and 2020. Phase one has already finished on April, 2018.

Rescanning is thankfully a simple process, which requires no new equipment or services. You can find which stations in your area are moving and at TVAnswers.org, a viewer resource provided by the National Association of Broadcasters.

Make sure to follow @TVAnswers for the latest updates, or visit TVAnswers.org to sign up for alerts.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Home Antenna if you have any further questions!

Finally the most demanded accessory – converter & recorder box – is back. You may or may not be aware that you don’t really need a TV to watch TV shows. With FSA 1808, you can watch games by connecting your PC monitor (HDMI port is required) to the box and antenna.

For NBA fans, you know the final is coming up, and you don’t want to miss any single games. So now you can watch playback whenever you want. On anther note, I am really getting tired of seeing Warriors. No doubt Golden State is a good team, and 2016-2017 final was an epic match even Warriors lost. But dude, I want to enjoy competitive games instead of watching junk-time play, especially in playoffs.

So do I really need the FSA 1808 converter & recorder box? FSA 1808 is not a mandatory add-on for the antenna, but you can definitely benefit from the TV DVR. Check the functions of the box below and you may have the answer.

Now back to the product. For those who may be the first time to the product, FSA 1808 has 2 major functions as listed below:

How to Get a Local FM Radio on a TV Antenna

Do you wonder how to get a local FM radio on a TV antenna? The frequencies used for FM radio transmission are very close to those used for VHF television signals, and an ordinary TV antenna will work beautifully with your FM radio or your stereo tuner. You can use either an indoor or outdoor antenna, though the outdoor variety often provides better reception. Both types will connect and work in the same way. If you no longer use your antenna for TV, connect it directly to your radio, otherwise you’ll need to use a splitter.

NO TV

  1. Look at the back of your radio or stereo to see what connection it offers for an FM antenna. Some have a pair of screw terminals, and others use the same threaded F-connector used for cable TV. Either one will work fine, though you may need an adaptor, depending on your antenna.
  2. Measure the distance from your antenna to your radio or your stereo receiver, leaving some additional length for routing the wire around obstacles. Purchase a length of antenna wire that reaches this distance. Most antennas have screw terminals intended for flat, two-strand antenna wire. If you’d rather use shielded coaxial cable, purchase an adaptor at an electronics store.
  3. Loosen the screws on the outdoor antenna’s terminals, attach the antenna wire or coaxial adaptor and re-tighten the screws. Feed the wire into your house through a vent, the soffits or a newly-drilled hole in your wall. If you drill a hole, weatherproof it with caulking. Run the wire to the room containing your stereo or FM radio.
  4. Connect the antenna wire to the antenna terminals on your stereo. Flat 300-ohm antenna wire attaches directly to screw terminals, and round coaxial cable attaches directly to a cable-style F-connector. If necessary, use an adaptor to go from one type of wire to the other type of connector.
  5. Turn on your radio and test its FM reception. Signals are directional, so adjust the antenna to pick up a specific station adequately.

Shared With TV

  1. Unscrew your antenna wire from the back of the TV set or from a set-top box or DVD recorder, if that’s where your antenna connects. Older televisions might have a pair of screw terminals, but most have the threaded cable-type F-connector.
  2. Connect the incoming antenna wire to a two-way signal splitter. If you’re using flat-lead wire, use an adaptor to convert it to coaxial cable and use a standard cable splitter. Attach one new cable to the splitter and run it from there to your TV or set-top box and reconnect it. Attach another to the splitter’s second output and run it to your FM radio or your stereo receiver.
  3. Thread the end of the cable onto your radio or stereo’s FM antenna input or use an adaptor to convert back to screw terminals. Turn on your stereo and check the reception on your preferred stations. Adjust the direction of your antenna to find a compromise, if needed, between TV and FM radio reception.

‘Clifford the Big Red Dog’ Returning to TV in 2019

Would this be considered a reboot or a re-woof? (O.K., we’ll stop now.)

But “Clifford The Big Red Dog,” the animated children’s series based on the books that began in 1963 by Norman Bridwell, is coming back to television in Fall 2019, Scholastic will announce on Wednesday. It will run concurrently on Amazon Prime and PBS Kids, bringing back the lovable red dog who grows from a small puppy to one larger than a house.

“There is something enduring in Clifford’s gentle, loyal spirit that touches fans even after they become adults,” Iole Lucchese, the executive producer of the series, said in a statement. “We see it in tributes on social media and in fan art, and of course, in every parent who grew up with Clifford and now shares their love of him with their preschoolers..”

The original version of the series debuted on PBS in 2000 and ran for three seasons, airing in 110 countries and picking up several Daytime Emmy nominations. John Ritter, who died in 2003, voiced Clifford — he was posthumously nominated for an Emmy in 2004. A spinoff series, “Clifford’s Puppy Days,” starring Lara Jill Miller and Henry Winkler, among others, ran from 2003 to 2006.

Clifford was first created in the 1960s by Mr. Bridwell, a then-freelance artist living in New York City. He didn’t have much luck with his drawing portfolio with children’s book publishers, but one of them suggested he make his own story to accompany one of the sketches. He did — made a bloodhound larger than life, accompanied by Emily Elizabeth, named after his daughter. He planned to name the dog Tiny, but Mr. Bridwell’s wife, Norma, thought the name was boring and suggested Clifford.

Mother’s Day is next Sunday (5/13), and I beg you guys see a lot of promotions about Mother’s Day. Some of them look great, but most of them are completely irrelevant. Take antenna as an example, what in the world does an antenna relate to Mother’s Day?

Don’t get me wrong, I love my mom and she is my hero. I haven’t seen her for quite a few years and I miss her a lot. Though we talk through phone from time to time, it doesn’t help too much. I have been preparing the gifts for her like 2 weeks ago and hopefully she would love what I picked.

Okay, back to the question…No matter you or your Moms, as long as you enjoy watching TV, let our antenna help create more happy memories. Take the chance to make Moms’ life easier AND save for yourselves. We have $5 Off $50 with ‘GIFT’, $13 Off $100 with ‘LOVE’, and $20 Off $140 with ‘MOM’.
